Dementia specific care
The onset of dementia affects many Australian families and has an enormous impact on the daily life of the person with dementia, their carer and loved ones.
We understand that making the decision to find an alternative to caring for a person with dementia at home can be one of the most difficult decisions families and carers will make. Our aim is to make this process as easy as possible and all care is taken to support both resident, carer and family members throughout this transition.
Eva Tilley offers a dementia specific unit which is designed specifically for people with dementia who may have special care needs that cannot be safely accommodated elsewhere within the home. Our philosophy of care is to value each resident as a person and to maximise their autonomy and encourage independence and participation in everyday life.
Our highly trained staff employ a range of strategies designed to support each resident’s needs at an appropriate level, whilst encouraging them to maintain their preferences and independence as much as possible.
With our resident centred approach, we work in partnership with residents, their families and health professionals to provide them with the best possible care and quality of life.
“To all at Eva Tilley, thank you all so very much for the care you have shown to my mother. As you can imagine placing a loved one in care is a very difficult decision. We know we have made the correct decision.” Mrs G.
