Appointment of the Chief Executive Officer
Dear Members of the Eva Tilley Community,
It is with great pleasure that, on behalf of the Board, I welcome Ms Melissa McDonald as the Chief Executive Officer of Eva Tilley.
Melissa brings a wealth of leadership experience in health and aged care. Melissa’s ambitions for our residents, staff, partners and community are aligned to the vision, mission and values of Eva Tilley.
Melissa is a registered nurse and with over 25 years’ experience in senior leadership positions across the acute, sub-acute and aged care sectors. Melissa’s most recent position was with Regis Aged Care as the Executive General Manager, Care and Clinical Practice. While in this role Melissa was responsible for providing strategic clinical and care leadership, professional stewardship and overseeing delivery of care to over 8,000 residents and clients across the organisation. During this time Melissa led the design, implementation and coordination of the national COVID-19 response; implemented programs to build the capability of the clinical and care teams; created and implemented the Regis Research Framework; facilitated the implementation of Aged Care On-site Pharmacists; and led the implementation of Electronic Medication Management System (EMMS).
Prior to this Melissa has held senior leadership positions across Mercy Health, including as Deputy Director of Nursing and Perioperative and Specialist Services Program Director and prior to that with Ramsay Health as the Director of Clinical Services at Warringal Private Hospital.
As well as gaining a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Nursing), Melissa’s academic achievements include Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, Professional Certificate in Health Systems Management, Master of Enterprise and a Certificate in Clinical Governance. These broad ranging qualifications complement Melissa’s extensive clinical and leadership expertise.
Melissa is passionate about the delivery of quality, evidence-based care and in building the capacity and capability of all staff to provide care that is innovative, sustainable and at all times, person centred.
