Meet the Eva Tilley Board
The Eva Tilley Board of Directors are passionate volunteers, dedicated to our residents. Many of our Board have, or have had, family members in our care. They are local community members who are personally connected to and invested in serving the people of Boroondara.
We convene several committees which are responsible for particular aspects of our operation, including:
Clinical Governance
Business and Audit
Community and Partnerships
We also schedule regular resident meetings throughout the year with our residents and families, to directly discuss topics of interest, including recreational activities, clinical care and catering.

Distinguished Prof. Judy Currey
CHAIR

Judy is a Professor of Nursing, and the Director of Active Learning at Deakin University. Judy’s research program is focused on nursing and medical decisions that impact patient safety and quality of care such as the recognition and response to patient clinical deterioration; and educational strategies to develop a workforce skilled in clinical risk management. Judy is a highly experienced educator, qualified Team-Based Learning Consultant-Trainer; and has been awarded numerous national and local teaching and innovation awards. Judy serves on numerous academic and professional boards, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Judy is a member of the Clinical Governance Committee at Eva Tilley.
Mrs Margaret Smith OAM
VICE CHAIR / CHAIR OF COMMUNITY & PARTNERSHIPS

Margaret has held many positions throughout her career in the corporate and philanthropic sectors resulting in a breadth of knowledge expertise. After 17 years as General Manager of The Queens’s Trust for Young Australians, Margaret took on the challenge of founding Chief Executive Officer of Children First Foundation. During her 17 years at Children First, as both Chairman and later CEO, Margaret and her team improved the lives of hundreds of children from around the world through life saving surgery. Following her own experience of family members in aged care, Margaret joined Eva Tilley in 2011 and has since applied her pragmatism and dedication to a range of projects to serve as an advocate for those in care.
Dr Olga Hogan

Olga is an executive finance professional with experience working with the boards of large and small organisations on strategic, financial and risk issues. Olga’s private equity, investor relations and audit background brings extensive experience in company evaluation, risk assessment and effective financial systems. Olga is a graduate of the Australia Institute of Company Directors, has a Certificate in Governance Practice from the Governance Institute of Australia, is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and has a PhD in Chemistry from Oxford University.
Mr Victor (Clarke) Ballard

Clarke is a civil engineer and hydrologist by training and also has qualifications in economics. After a career in the rural water industry in south-east Australia, he set up an engineering consultancy in 1995, specialising in water resource management. He is now semi-retired but still has an active interest in the work of the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage as Australian representative on two of its working groups. He is a member and past President of the Rotary Club of Balwyn. Hobbies include bushwalking, outback travel, motor cars, especially electric ones, and simply making things.

Susan is a strategic globally accomplished Health Safety Environment and Wellbeing (HSEW) Executive uniquely experienced across mining, manufacturing, pharmaceutical health care and tertiary industries with proven ability to bring business based HSEW solutions that positively impact people and the organisation. She brings expertise in health, safety, risk and governance. She holds a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Bachelor of Economics and is a Registered Nurse. Susan is a member of Eva Tilley’s Clinical Governance Committee.

Kristin is a qualified Registered Nurse who has dedicated 25 years in senior management roles in residential aged care, community aged care, the disability sector, primary care and allied health. Kristin’s areas of expertise lay in quality and compliance management and risk management. As a Board Director, she is also a member of the Clinical Governance Committee.
Mr Noel Paul

Noel is a finance and investment professional with experience across investment banking, private equity and venture capital. He has worked across roles in mergers and acquisitions transaction advisory, growth and early-stage capital investing and portfolio management, developing a strong track record in financial modelling, forecasting, valuation, financial due diligence and reporting. Noel holds an MBA from Melbourne.

Dushyant is an experienced technology leader specialising in cybersecurity, risk management, and governance. As the Director of Cybersecurity at Deakin, he brings extensive expertise in technical strategy, compliance, and organisational security resilience. With a background in both technical and management roles, he is passionate about driving innovation, education sector and healthcare. Dushyant is a member of Eva Tilley’s Clinical Governance Committee.
